Data Lead

Listed as a role rather than a person — see the body for the current responsibility split.

The Data Lead owns the provider dataset, the published data-provenance register, and the snapshot refresh cadence. The role is responsible for keeping the public source-classes accurate and for naming any change in retention or refresh policy as it ships.

This role is currently fulfilled by the founder. As with the Editorial Lead, we list it as a separate role so a dedicated hire steps into a defined remit; the role-based profile here is replaced with a named profile when that hire closes.

Responsibilities
  • Owner of the published data-provenance register
  • Maintains the snapshot refresh cadence on schedule
  • Names any change in retention or refresh policy publicly
  • Ships dataset corrections within the published correction window

14-tuple provenance

Every rendered fact ties to a source URL, dataset ID, snapshot date, row key, and SHA-256 — the full chain-of-custody record.

Reproducible SQL

Each study ships the exact query behind its figures, run against the cited federal snapshot. Re-run it yourself.

Daily reconciliation

Published counts are reconciled against the upstream federal datasets on a daily cadence, with drift logged.
